ATTRACTIONS
Bellingen’s social calendar is packed with excitement all year-round. Here are just a few of the upcoming events.
Bellingen Markets
The Bellingen Markets are held on the third Saturday of every month. The Bellingen Community Markets is one of Australia’s largest and most diverse regional markets. It is located directly behind our facility on the local football grounds.
The Dorrigo Agricultural Show
The Dorrigo show will be held on Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th of November 2017. The primary focus of the annual agricultural show is to serve as a showcase for the talents of the residents and local organisations, particularly the youth of the community.
Carols Urunga
Carols by Candlelight will be held in Urunga on the 16th of December 2017. This free community event consists of live music and entertainment with magnificent fireworks closing the show at 9 pm. Carols Urunga hosts an audience of some 5,000 people and is staged in the beautiful natural amphitheatre of Morgo Street Reserve (with a stunning twin river view).
After the event, you might even like to take the family on a short car trip to see the Christmas lights of the valley. The Bellinger Keys in Urunga is a must-see.
Bellingen Cup
The Bellingen Cup, held at Bowraville race course, is a much-anticipated event during the year. The date is yet to be announced, but we will have a bus running from Diggers Tavern to take people over and bring them back.
Coffs Harbour Cup
The Coffs Harbour Cup date is yet to be announced. We may be running a bus from Diggers Tavern to the race course and back, depending on how much interest is received. If you have interest in this transport, please phone us.
Camp Creative
Camp Creative is a summer camp for families and individuals. It is a fun learning event where you mix with people of widely differing interests and ages in a relaxing and creative atmosphere. The event will be held from the 9th to the 13th of January 2017. The focus is on imagination, innovation and enjoyment, giving everyone the opportunity to find within themselves new creative expression.
For more info, please visit the Camp Creative
website.
Bellingen Agricultural Show
According to those pioneering in the Bellinger Valley, the Bellinger River Agricultural Association was formed in 1880 and presented the first Bellingen Show at Fernmount in 1881. On the ninth day of May 1985, the association became an incorporated public company and the Bellinger River Agricultural Society Limited was born.
The 100th Show was held in 1988 and the society is still presenting this historic event today. The next show will be held on Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st of May 2017 and it is an event not to miss.

ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO
Visitors will always find lots to do in and around Bellingen Town and Shire.
Dorrigo
Griffiths Lookout
This lookout offers some of the most superb views on the Coffs Coast. You’ll enjoy breathtaking wilderness views of the Great Dividing Range unfolding before you looking south.
Dangar Falls
Located two kilometres north of Dorrigo’s town centre, you’ll find a beautiful 30-metre waterfall set amidst scenic agricultural and dairy farmland. There’s a car park, a viewing platform, picnic tables and a walking trail that leads you to the river at the bottom of the waterfall.
Skywalk Lookout
Directly connected to Dorrigo Rainforest Centre, this lookout offers a bird’s-eye view of the surrounding landscape. Perched right on the edge of the escarpment, the views take in Bellinger Valley to the coast with deep valleys and gorges, blanketed in a rich rainforest.

River Activities
The area is great for canoeing, swimming, fishing, bird-watching and a whole lot more. Hire a canoe from Bellingen Canoe Adventures and paddle the beautiful Bellinger River. Full moon and champagne tours are a must. Take a short drive to the Promised Land at Gleniffer and swim in the pristine Never Never Creek.
Golf
Hire clubs and a cart for a round of golf at the picturesque Bellingen Golf Club.
Beaches
It’s only a 15-minute drive to the patrolled beaches, Urunga and Hungry Head (weekends and school holidays in summer). Coffs Harbour is a 30-minute drive.
Natural Beauty
You can take day trips to Ebor Falls and the trout hatchery or Dorrigo World Heritage National Park and Sky Walk west on the Waterfall Way.
Coffs Harbour Racing Club hosts many meetings during the year, including the Coffs Harbour Gold Cup in August. A free bus operates from Diggers Tavern on both occasions.
